Build a modular hanging system using a straight aluminum or steel rail mounted close to the wall for your home. In your office, you may have experienced such a rail system that allows attaching items like a whiteboard or bookshelf. You can recreate this at home by purchasing and cutting flat aluminum (or steel) to desired length. Print 'slip' sleeves to slide onto the rail and 'end cap' sleeves for securing the ends. Mount the fixture on a surface using appropriate screws or adhesives, and enjoy your new versatile attachment rail system. Customize it further by attaching items like hooks or the Thingiverse mashup (ID 6807) as per your needs. The OpenScad is provided for resizing the base form by modifying a few parameters.
