Straight bevel gear

Straight bevel gear

myminifactory

A right circular cone shaped bevel gear is formed by cutting most of its tip off. When two bevel gears mesh, their imaginary vertices must converge to a single point. Their shaft axes also intersect at this precise location, creating an arbitrary non-straight angle between the shafts. The angle between the shafts can range from anything except zero or 180 degrees. Bevel gears with matching numbers of teeth and shaft axes aligned at 90 degrees are classified as mitre gears.
