To fix my malfunctioning stove knob, I've found a few replacement designs on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1366, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1962, and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7348. My chosen design has a solid body with a square hole on the bottom, made slightly smaller than the axis for a snug fit. To ensure maximum strength, print at 100% fill and file the hole to match your axis perfectly.
