Stormtrooper Suit

thingiverse

I want to design a stormtrooper suit that complements my EFX helmet, but I was unhappy with the existing options on this site, so I decided to create my own. Prior to the launch of Rogue One, I attended Star Wars Celebration in 2016 and witnessed a presentation about reimagining the troopers. The speakers emphasized their desire to maintain the essence of the original while incorporating more intricate details. This concept resonated with me, and I chose to focus on creating a stormtrooper suit inspired by Rogue One's design. Notably, this iteration features a detonator on the back. Since I'm modeling these parts manually, the process is slower than I'd like. To establish scale, I've been referencing a SWBattlefront model, disregarding any 501st considerations. The battlefront models are relatively sparse in terms of detail, so I use them as a starting point and then rebuild the design from scratch. As I work on each piece, I'll upload it here individually. Please note that my current design is quite rough, so feel free to download parts now or wait until I've completed the model. The screenshot displays my design overlaid on the battlefront dummy, highlighting the areas still in need of refinement. If you have any suggestions or comments during this process, I'm open to hearing them! Update 08/12/17: I've smoothed out the pauldron and created a first draft of the chestplate.
