Storm giants are tallest and most powerfully built of all true giant species on Prime Material Plane. They have innate ability with magical runes and they surpass all other giants even in more classical application of magic. In fact, some believe that the traditional written spells are based upon the language of storm giants. Since they are immune to the effects of storms, lightning and immense pressure, they most often live in castles located on the highest mountain peaks, on the clouds or deep beneath the waves. Northern type of storm giants usually live in large family keeps made out of hewn glaciers, that they sometimes use as enormous vessels that float over the northern seas and serve as bases for plundering the coastlines and trading routes. In the case of more permanent dwellings, they carve out entire mountain tops into dramatic castles, where they keep rocs and gryphons as pets. Southern type of storm giants tend to dwell on isolated islands or in the coral castles beneath the waves, where they sometimes raid the island chains to gather tribute in the form of slaves, olive oil and sheep. Southern storm giants value the cultured arts to a much greater extent than their northern cousins, so they will frequently kidnap actors or poets to keep them entertained.
