Storage Tote Clip
thingiverse
When packing gear for a camping trip or any adventure, securing a storage tote in the back of your pickup truck can be a challenge. The lid tends to fly off unexpectedly, causing disorder and disruption. Given the current popularity of creating chaos, I developed a straightforward locking clip to keep the lid firmly in place without needing to secure it with wire. If printed using ABS plastic, this design may work upright; however, when printing in PLA or PETG, you'll want to install the clip horizontally, apply a brim, and carefully select your supports. Printing the clip vertically in PLA or PETG will result in failure due to the designed-in flexibility of the locking mechanism. The clip measures 36mm x 13mm and fits seamlessly on my 27-gallon HDX storage totes from Home Depot as well as another brand I had purchased from Costco.
