Storage Divider
cults3d
Summary: A solution to divide an existing storage solution into small containers for small volume items. It prints easy and fast, has a label to put information on, and is re-sizable to whatever size you need. Reason: You might know the problem; you have a lot of small items in small volumes that you need to store. Most storage solutions are aimed at medium to high volumes. That’s why it ends up in small bags somewhere in a bigger box or just all put together in one solution. In wanted a solution for all the hot-end parts that I have in stock. Think of small volumes of nozzles, in multiple sizes, for multiple architectures. Solution: I toke an existing storage solution, and designed a solution into it to suite my needs. My requirements: • must divide a bigger slots into smaller ones, • must be easy and fast to print, • must contain a label to put information on, • must be easy to customize to other sizes and to other existing storage solutions. To divide it into smaller slots, I designed little boxes that I can put into the existing storage solution. The sizing is such that I can take it out easily to take it with me to somewhere where I need the parts. The design makes use of (spiral) vase mode offered by the slicer. This is a fast and easy way of printing. In my workshop, the size I needed most toke 15 minutes to print. (the smaller 13, the bigger 21). I designed an integrated slider for a small card to write information on. The cards I made from 0.5mm think cardboard. It is a parametric design, using FreeCad with spreadsheet functionality. This makes it adjustable to any size. Of course within it’s intended usage. With this design I can resize it to other sizes in a matter of seconds. This helped me a lot to accommodate the different shapes I needed. If you need specific sizing and need help, contact me. Let me know the parameters you need, I can put it online for you.
