The Sharp Building and Neiman Center at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago showcase impressive stonework relief on their main entrance way. In October 2012, a scan was done using Catch, which eventually led to learning how to extrude it in Blender for a manifold mesh suitable for 3D printing. The process was completed with cropping and cleaning up in Netfabb. This breakthrough will enable scanning of more architectural surfaces and textures moving forward.
