Stone Graves, St. Patrick's Chapel
sketchfab
Human-shaped rock cuts overlook the sea at St. Patrick's ancient chapel in Heysham, Lancashire. Local legend claims these are "Viking" graves, but their age remains unknown, along with their intended use. The niches above may have held crosses, symbolizing burial sites for early, influential Christians in northern England. These graves sit atop a cliff, an old quarry, making photography challenging, resulting in gaps in the model. A future drone flight would complete the model. Volunteers from Lancashire and District Heritage Group collaborated with CITiZAN to create this 2018 model.
