Stone fish effigy pipe carved from soapstone stands about 4 inches tall. Found in Site 31St1, a site located in Stanly County, North Carolina. It dates back to the Late Woodland period, estimated between AD 800 and 1200. The stone object measures 4 inches long and just over an inch wide. It is part of the North Carolina Archaeological Collection at the Research Laboratories of Archaeology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
