Stone Censer in the shape of a bat
myminifactory
The 16th (and final) ruler of Copan ushered in an era of peak popularity for stone receptacles. They were remarkably portable and could potentially occupy various positions on circular bases throughout the year's calendar. These vessels were frequently employed as containers for liquid offerings to deities, rather than being used for burnt sacrifices. Their glyphic name has been cracked as "sac lac tuun", translating to "white stone container" or more likely "white incense container". A bat adorns the censer's top, while its body is embellished with cocoa fruits.
