STONE BUILDING HO SCALE
thingiverse
This STONE BUILDING in HO (1/87th) model railroad scale will take many hours to print. But I believe you will find it a very rewarding print when finished and painted. The main stone structure is printed as a single unit and takes 11 hours and 28 minutes to print. The windows and doors are two separate halves (vertical and Horizontal) that glued together smooth back to smooth back. 3D printers have a rough time printing criss cross structures and so I have designed these to be as free as possible with clean results. Do not cut the connecting sections, these are so the windows and doors are per-aligned for you. No tedious measuring or gluing. Only one of the little double windows needs to be cut in half for each side. Install roofing such as Plastrut sheeting with the desired look, corrugated, metal, shingles or Mexican tile before installing the chimney. The Rotunda can be installed on either side but it will need careful trimming with a soldering gun hot #11 blade knife. I exclusively print with PLA and have found that ordinary clear lacquer thinner (Nail polish remover) is a wonderful glue. Make a small test for yourself of two pieces of printed scrap PLA and give it a try. Let sit for 20 seconds and then try to break it apart. It leaves no residue and is applied with a small brush. I've been using lacquer thinner as a glue on stryene and PLA for years. No sloppy or messy glue to show when finished. If you would like me to design a custom model for you contact me at: garylavart@yahoo.com. It is totally free but I will post it on Thingiverse for others to print and enjoy.
