Stone Bead

myminifactory

Frederick Douglass carefully curated this collection of stone and glass beads, including the Indian bead in question, which he meticulously preserved. The 3D scanning process began on January 9, 2018, utilizing a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner to capture the exterior of the bead with remarkable precision. Although the scanner failed to record the interior, skilled technicians digitally removed any obstructions to create an accurate digital model. This invaluable artifact is courtesy of the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, proudly managed by the National Park Service in Washington, D.C., and cataloged as FRDO 2280. The Virtual Curation Lab has graciously made this object available for scanning.
