Stone Age Axe

Stone Age Axe

My daughter is studying the Stone Age period at school and asked me if I could create an axe for her. Based on an actual artefact, I modeled a simple 3-part axe. Print parts in appropriate materials - wood-effect handle. Stone head and material of choice for strapping. Just some glue needed to complete. Please note: not to be used for hunting or gathering. Enjoy! Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 2 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: High res will suffice Infill: High infill Notes: I printed this with a 0.8 nozzle and 0.1 layer height. It's a little rough but does add to the character. Supports are only needed for the axe head. The strapping will print okay without, but add them if you wish. Post-Printing Print parts in materials and color appropriate. The handle can either be printed complete (if your build area is large enough) or in 3 parts. Glue handle together, slide strapping over but do not glue until the head has been positioned in its handle slot. Pull strapping down the handle to achieve a nice tight axe head fit. Glue all parts.
