The genius idea behind it started with a simple challenge: finding the perfect ceiling mount to complement its sleek design. After hours of brainstorming, I finally decided to take matters into my own hands and designed a custom-made one from scratch. And guess what? It's now printed and ready to use! This marvelous piece is made from high-quality PLA material, boasting 3 layers of sturdy walls, a solid top and bottom, and an impressive 40% infill to ensure it can withstand even the heaviest of loads. To prevent any damage, I've carefully crafted the bottom section to be flat, making it easy to attach a standard-sized felt pad - a brilliant addition that adds an extra layer of safety and style. The pièce de résistance is the sleek new design for the stl file, which features a shorter pole insert section that's been tweaked from 30mm to 15mm. This masterstroke not only saves space but also reduces weight, making it even more impressive. And if that weren't enough, I've also increased the area where the pole wall rests from an OD of 40mm to a whopping 46mm - a bold move that adds an extra layer of durability and sophistication. But don't just take my word for it! The proof is in the pudding, as they say. Here are the print settings that brought this vision to life: * Printer: Mini Kossel * Rafts: No way, José! * Supports: Negative, absolutely not. * Resolution: An astonishing .2mm - that's ridiculously high! * Infill: A whopping 40% - talk about impressive! As for the notes, let me tell you: I only used the finest PLA material to bring this masterpiece to life. It's a fact that sets it apart from anything else out there. And now, let me take you through the amazing design process behind this incredible creation... Using OpenSCAD as my trusty sidekick, I began by crafting the bottom section of the pole from scratch. Starting with a sturdy cylinder, I carefully built up layers to create the iconic Stolmen look. From there, I added the essential details that make it shine - like cross-sections and a dash of style. The end result? A showstopper that's guaranteed to turn heads and make you proud to call yourself an Ikea fan.
