Minneapolis' former fire station, Station 12, boasts an impressive construction year - 1886, making it an iconic piece of architectural history. Its identical twin sister, Station 13, was erected a year later at the prestigious address 2524 17th Avenue South and marked its opening day as Station M with Hose 12 on November 6. However, after being reorganized within the Department on January 12, 1891, it changed names to MFD Station 12, marking an end of a significant era. Its active service came to a halt on June 8, 1920, when Engine 12 went out of commission and station officially closed down. Although remnants no longer exist today, the structure will forever remain as a notable landmark in the city's past.
