Stitch Counter

Stitch Counter

This is a printable stitch counter with an attached hook that can either be attached directly to your work or onto an existing stitch counter. This is sort of a work in progress and can be a little awkward to get to fit together. This can be remedied by gently filing down the slightly protruding ends of the middle part in order for the end parts to click in. File it a little at a time to ensure they click in properly and don't come out too easily. I have successfully printed this at both 0.12mm and 0.2mm layer height, both with the nozzle that comes with my printer (0.4mm). More detailed results were obtained with the 0.12 layer height, and I printed that with the centre cylinder at 2cm high (full counter coming out at around 3cm). Larger would be better however, and I printed the larger one (layer height of 0.2mm) with the centre cylinder approx 2.5cm high. The writing can be hard to make out on larger layer heights, so I used a white spray primer on the number wheels (spraying at an angle with tape covering the ends) to help the number stand out which worked well and also served to provide a little friction when turning to ensure the numbers stay in place. I would imagine a bit of blu tac between the two number scrolls when assembling would help the wheels stay put as there isn't much friction when printing in PLA.
