Stitch Bow Floss Holder
thingiverse
This is a "Stitch Bow" floss holder used to store and preserve floss for embroidery. One floss holder can hold a single skein of floss from popular vendors like DMC. This model is designed to blend in seamlessly with your other holders. If you want them to stand out, I recommend printing them in various colors! Two STL files are included: FlossWinder.stl has the object aligned vertically along the Y-axis, while FlossWinder45.stl aligns the object diagonally. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 50% Notes: This model prints effortlessly in PLA or ABS. I print these in PLA on cold blue tape with no issues at all. They take 20 minutes or less to print, half that time on a high-quality machine. Post-Printing: The 3D printed version may have sharper edges than the original object, and the small ridges at the ends are only visible on one side. If this matters to you, you can round off sharp edges with an xacto-knife or small file. How I Designed This OpenSCAD makes it easy This model was built in OpenSCAD, and the source code is included. You can adjust the parameters at the top of the file to create holders of different sizes. Make them shorter or longer by changing bar_len, wider or narrower with bar_width, and thicker or thinner with thickness. If you prefer to have a hole on the label part, you can add one by modifying hole diameter label_hole_d.
