Here is a custom-made stir plate I use for beer brewing. The box fits a Thermaltake fan from Amazon and magnets are pressed into the plate. It comfortably holds a 2 liter Erlenmeyer flask. I saved a significant amount of money on a stir plate by building my own. I highly recommend gluing the plate to the fan, or else it will constantly throw off the bar when it shifts.
