The Federation's military had already caught a saboteur's ship trying to blow up a crucial warehouse in the Erebus system before the Quarantine Memorandum even came out. Despite an investigation, they still couldn't figure out who was flying it or where the one-of-a-kind attack plane that made it possible came from. The military handed the ship over to Scott en Cott Corporation for closer analysis and mass production. Because of its sleek design and top-notch fighting abilities, this ship got nicknamed Stingray - a nod to Earth's super-fast killer stingrays that pack a deadly punch with their lightning-fast tail swipes.
