This is an exquisite prop that would make a fantastic addition to a costume or serve as a stunning static decoration. The design of the weapon draws inspiration from all three Lord of The Rings films, as well as the latest trilogy, The Hobbit. Sting was an ancient blade forged by Elvish master craftsmen in Gondolin. As soon as orcs or goblins enter its vicinity, the blade shines brightly with a blue light, alerting the wielder and anyone who can see it to their presence. It stands out as the only sword in Middle Earth possessing this extraordinary power. The intricate lettering on the blade is written in Sindarin letters that phonetically read, "Maegnas aen estar nin dagnir in yngyl im". Translated, this means "Sting is my name; I am the spider's bane". First appearing in The Hobbit, the blade was discovered by Bilbo Baggins in a Troll-hoard. It later passed to Frodo before his perilous quest into Mordor, and eventually to his closest friend Sam Gamgee. Though considered a mere dagger according to elven standards, it proved an ideal short sword for a Hobbit, despite its small size.
