Stiffer X-End for Prusa Mini with square nuts
prusaprinters

The X-End is the part I find myself adjusting all the time for a level bed. This mod adds more stiffness and gives a proper thread for all screws. You can also easily pull out the pulley to the front, in contrast to the original prusa part.

Pros:

Stiffer in all directions, less twisting

better long term stability (should hold alignment better)

can take out the Pulley easily (if you want to change something on the x carriage you don't have to remove the X-End)

less wear as all screws have metal to thread into

You need:

6 x M3 Squarenuts (2 should be in the old part)

4 x M3 8 mm cylinderhead screws

The other things from the original part

As always: don't overtorque or you will break the part, even though this is fairly stable in PETG.

Important for assembly: The part where the cylinder head screws sit protrudes a little bit to accomodate 8 mm screws. This part has to face the back side where the part cooling fan is or the X-Carriage can crash into the part (see photos). If you really want the screws on the other side, you could modify the part and use shorter screws.
