Stick-On Christmas light hook
thingiverse
I'm taking initiative to hang my lights before winter sets in, avoiding the chilly task of ascending a ladder on icy surfaces. I prefer utilizing adhesive hooks that spare me from making holes in my newly installed siding. I had trouble locating my standard hook purchases at the store and was underwhelmed by their quality. Consequently, I decided to create custom hooks through 3D printing. These bespoke hooks can be secured with double-sided tape, which happens to match the size requirement for 3M Command Adhesive refills if that's your preferred method. They are adaptable for use indoors as well as outdoors, but it's essential to choose a suitable adhesive tape designed for outdoor applications. Instructions: I print six custom hooks simultaneously, lying on their sides with the intended orientation. Thanks to recent advancements in printing software such as Cura and Slic3r, removing supports becomes effortless. In my previous attempt, I utilized PLA without a brim and 0.2mm layer thickness, resulting in successful prints.
