A Stewart platform, a parallel robot, features six hydraulic jacks acting as prismatic actuators, with each pair attached to its base and crossing over to three mounting points on an upper plate. This innovative design allows objects placed on the top plate to move in all six degrees of freedom that a freely-suspended body can experience - lateral, longitudinal, vertical movements, as well as pitch, roll, and yaw rotations, often referred to as a six-axis platform.
