Stern Pinball - Target Support
thingiverse

Purpose
Frustrated by pinball targets that shift left or right after a while? Despite repeatedly tightening them, they still manage to move again? These solutions will put an end to that problem. If you use these fixes, please let me know on which machine you applied them and whether you used the standard or slim version.
Currently Tested on the Following Machines
Tron LE: Targets "Z", "U", "S" (standard or slim), "E" (using slim) Ironman VE: Target "left whiplash" (standard or slim) Xmen LE: Magneto standups (standard or slim)
Update: Added the Mark 8 Version
This is a slimmer version of the previous mark, designed to fit tighter targets. It's similar to the mark 7 but slightly smaller. Example: This support can now be used on Tron "E" target. This small support helps keep pinball targets vertical by preventing them from leaning sideways over time. Due to differences in metal target supports, you may need to file the inside of the support to get it to fit snugly. It should remain very tight, allowing only a slight gap between the holes. Printing: Rotate the model so that the small 45-degree cutout is touching your print bed. This will make it easier to insert the metal bracket later. Infill: At least 50% infill is recommended, as we want this piece to be strong. Print Time: Approximately 40 minutes Installation: Note: There are two ends to this support - an up end and a down end. The up end has more space between the screw holes and doesn't have a small cutout section. Locate the cutout, and that's the end that should be near the wire end of the target. There is one inside surface with a 45-degree angle cut, allowing the angled solder end to easily fit inside the support. 1. Inside the original metal support into the slot end without the cutout. Push it in until the screw marks line up with the holes. If it doesn't fit, double-check that it's not upside down! 2. Put the two screws back in place. 3. Push the target onto the back of the screws. It should be tight but mostly fit. 4. It may not go all the way, so use a nut driver to turn the screws and pull the target into the support. 5. Once the screws clear the back of the target, add the rear metal support bracket. Use a nut driver until the top of the screws can't be driven anymore. 6. Check that there's no gap between the target and the main steel support. 7. Reinstall the target.
