Stern Pinball Flipper Cooler
thingiverse
This is a coil cooler for the Stern flippers on older (Whitestar) machines. It was created to cool the Lord of the Rings (LOTR) flippers. I haven't tested it on any other machines. These are the fans I used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XQDMMJ5/ I attached them with these connectors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076JFFDWN/ 3-pin housing to connect to cabinet power: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/molex/0003092032/61297 https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/molex/0002098108/2421402 There is a connector at the front of the machine that is used for accessories. I connected it to that. Verify your connector before installing anything. Make sure you are connecting to +12V and ground properly. The fans are on while the machine is powered on and not turned off. So, there shouldn't be any back EMF. I added a protection diode to guard against back EMF just in case. Similar to the second figure shown here: http://learningaboutelectronics.com/Articles/What-is-a-protection-diode fan-square-side.stl is designed to be printed on its side without supports. Update: Added a hex pattern and grill-less bracket from Mr_Tantrum on Pinside.
