The Steregushchiy class corvettes are multipurpose warships built to take over from the Grisha class. They're used in coastal operations, attacking enemy subs and surface vessels, and providing gunfire support during amphibious landings.[3] The initial four ships were constructed at Russia's Severnaya Verf shipyard in St. Petersburg. A second production line has been set up in Komsomolsk. The lead vessel of this new batch is called Sovershennyy.
