Stepper Rack and Pinion

Stepper Rack and Pinion

thingiverse

This is a simple rack and pinion set that I designed for my daughter's 4H project. We're mounting an electromagnet to it, allowing it to pick up and place steel checker pucks. This entire setup is mounted on a two-axis CNC-style system. The ultimate goal is to create a robot that can play checkers. Tip: If the rack gear has trouble sliding along the dovetail, try sanding down its bottom surface for more clearance. Additionally, make sure to clean out the channel if it's not clear enough. Also: - Print the pinion gear on its flat side. - Print the rack gear with its dovetail facing downwards. - Print the main body so that the mounting holes are oriented downwards. Good luck!
