It's a protective enclosure for stepper motor speed control shown in the photo. I deliberately made the tolerances on the holes in the top extra spacious due to the unorganized positioning of the connectors, switches, heat sink and potentiometer. The large diode will also protrude through the top. This design is meant to prevent it from shorting out on other objects, so it can be used without needing to be mounted to a circuit board or any other surface. A minor update was made to the top. I widened the side of the heat sink opening for additional clearance for very awkwardly attached heat sinks. You'll likely need to push the large diode slightly towards the knob side to get the top to fit properly.
