UPDATE 2: Version 2.01 - Added more space for side diodes - Added fan, 30 x 30mm, and thicker cover After printing version 2, I discovered that the diodes in the sides wouldn't fit, so I had to fix this issue. Now the fan holder plate is thicker and screws fit better. The case is now at 40 x 40. Update: Version 2.00 After testing the first prototype, I noticed the diodes were getting warm, so I updated the enclosure to include a 30mm fan to cool them down! Looking at different posts on forums, I came across the stepper motor smoother! It uses 4 to 8 diodes to silence the stepper motors. Different boards are out there, but one can simply build it and encase everything in the case I designed. This little addon will eliminate those fuzzy lines on your prints... Parts needed: 1N5404 or 1n5408 diodes 12v 30 x 30 fan 2 x 4 pin sockets Piece of wires Instructions: Print the STL file. Gather the parts and solder them as per schematic. Install in case and secure with some hot glue. Make sure you power the fan from a 12v source. Connect the smoother in series with the stepper motor - ie between the stepper motor and the stepper driver. Enjoy!
