Stepper Motor Driver v3.0

thingiverse

Introducing the latest advancement to the RepRap Stepper Motor Driver board, featuring polished improvements and new features. The new 4-pin Molex connector, previously used in CDROM audio connectors, offers a smaller footprint, cheaper cables, and reduced confusion for beginners. Additionally, the A3977 chip has been reintroduced, providing full to 1/8 step functionality, 2.5A per phase, and no need for heatsinking. The board maintains the same footprint and spacings as its predecessor, v2.3. Early tests indicate it is significantly quieter than the previous driver. Prototypes are being sent out (1-2 weeks), followed by documentation, production runs, and eventual release for sale at MakerBot.
