Stepper Deflection Guard for 3Dfused Rail Kits

Stepper Deflection Guard for 3Dfused Rail Kits

thingiverse

This is a shaft deflector for X and Y axes of linear rail kits used with CR-10s 3D printers, which have notoriously flexible stepper shafts that can cause issues like linear banding that matches the belt's profile. To address this problem, these deflectors support the end of the stepper shaft with a single MR95ZZ bearing. When in use, they provide minimal friction to the stepper shaft, but when it deflects, the deflector kicks in and limits the amount of deflection. Print the deflector as designed, without any supports since the screw holes are bridged together. To assemble the deflector, you'll need one MR95ZZ bearing and four M3 25mm socket head screws.
