Stepcraft Rubberfeet Mount
thingiverse
I am currently conducting a thorough inspection of my Stepcraft 420 Version 1. The rubber feet's adhesive has failed, leaving behind a messy situation. To address this issue, I decided to create a more robust mounting system for the rubber feet. Drilling and tapping into the aluminum profile was not an appealing option as I feared the grease would eventually seep through. To overcome this challenge, I designed and constructed "shoes" that will simply slide into the profile. The original rubber feet can be secured using M3 screws or double-sided tape. Initially, I plan to test how well they function without any additional fixation in place. If the mounts do not remain securely positioned, I may consider using superglue as a possible solution. The print was successfully completed with the smallest surface area on the bed, sans support or raft, but with a brim for added stability. The round portion that fits into the screw slot has been sanded to eliminate layer ripples. For those who wish to secure the feet with screws, the following parts are required: - 4x M3 x 10mm - 4x Washers - 4x M3 Nuts
