Manually moving stepper motors is sometimes necessary, which can be done if they are disabled. This may occur when your CNC machine exceeds its limits and triggers the security function, disabling controls. It's also essential for maintenance purposes. A Stepcraft CNC typically features stepper motors with drive-shafts at both ends, each measuring 5mm in diameter. These shafts are long enough to securely hold a knob. The STL file usually contains a 5mm-diameter hole, but it needs to be re-drilled. Additionally, the hole in the shaft must have an M3 screw thread machined into it.
