Step-up ring extension
thingiverse
Aim: Private use for the P900 I have access to. I fabricated a custom step-up ring using a lathe, cutting it to fit a standard 67-77mm configuration. The inner diameter of this component measures 69mm. To complete the design, I elongated the ring along the lens axis and attached it securely with adhesive. Why: a) My P900 camera consistently pulls in the front of the lens, causing standard step-up rings to jam and risking imminent breakage. b) I often use 77mm filters across various lenses, including those with a 52mm filter thread. This requires an extended design like my custom ring to accommodate the difference, especially for extreme cases where less than 9mm of stick-out is involved.
