The beetle-shaped gadget is set outside at night to cool down, then placed inside when morning warmth causes air to flow in and create a temperature gradient. This leads to condensation on the bottle's surface, which flows into a 1-cup capacity "tank" via grooves before being tapped off. The device works best for alloy casting or aluminum plates up to 2mm thick.
