A small shard of glass from the base of a drinking vessel or candlestick has been recovered by archaeologists working at the Fort Germanna/Enchanted Castle site in Virginia's Orange County during the 2018 field season, which was a collaborative effort between Germana Archaeology and Virginia Commonwealth University. The fragment underwent detailed scanning using NextEngine Desktop technology to produce an accurate three-dimensional representation of its surface texture and shape. To ensure high-quality results, the glass artifact was lightly coated with talc powder before being scanned by researchers at Germanna Archaeology.
