The Stelophor of the Chaui II stands at 32 x 13 x 18 cm, crafted with precision from fine limestone. Fragments of a colorful frame remain intact on its curly wig and right arm. This ancient relic dates back to the New Kingdom era, approximately 1550-1070 BC. As guardian of the Place of Truth (Valley of the Kings), Chaui II provided artisans with tools and materials needed for crafting royal tombs during Ramses II's reign. The stele extols the sun god Re: "Re [prei] sen, rising in the eastern horizon, observed by Chaui, guardian of truth, 'Hail, Re in his glory! Atum-Harachte, lord of gods, A [mun, king of nine], illuminate me to behold your splendor. I remain unscathed before you!' Chaui requests appointment as a righteous one, as chosen by Osiris."
