Human: Indian Sati stones, often referred to as memorials for widows, are found throughout India. Charles Stuart acquired one at Bhilsa and later it was transferred to the India Museum, where it eventually ended up in the British Museum. The memorial stela or satīstambha has an ogee-shaped top with a 14-line inscription that is worn across the bottom. An arm bent at right angles is depicted in low-relief alongside symbols of the sun and the moon as well as miniature pañcaliṅga-s (?). A separate section below shows the standing couple to whom this stele is dedicated. This object is part of the "Scan The World" initiative, a non-profit project launched by MyMiniFactory.
