Stela P rises from the West Court of the Acropolis near the northwest corner of Structure 16. A portrait, carved into its front, depicts K'ahk' Uti'Chan (Smoke Serpent), the 11th ruler to hold power from 578 to 628 AD. Adorned in royal attire inspired by K'inich Yax K'uk' Mo' (Great-Sun First Quetzal Macaw), the first leader of the Copan dynasty, Stela P proudly stands as a testament to ancient legacy. Its dedication date is etched as 9.9.10.0.0 2 Ajaw 13 Pop, marking March 21, 623 AD.
