Although it's referred to as a Stela, this is actually a square panel that might have been seamlessly integrated into the architecture itself. This type of monument has not yet been discovered in its original context, but all indications suggest that it was indeed part of the architectural ensemble, possibly forming part of a narrative scene comprised of multiple panels. At least one similar monument has been documented. The relief is remarkably well-crafted and its features are quintessentially representative of the Late Pre-classic Maya period. The central figure is anthropomorphic in nature, boasting animal-like characteristics, including jaguar paws instead of feet, and a face that embodies the long-nosed visage prevalent throughout the Maya region during this era. This feature is considered a hallmark of Pan-Mesoamerican iconography. The character is depicted kneeling, with hands clasped around a stylized snake elevated above his head. The scene exudes a sense of dynamism, potentially symbolizing a ritualistic event. In this interpretation, the serpent may represent the celestial vault, thereby positioning this figure as one of the earliest representations of the world's carriers.
