Steinmetz solid
thingiverse
The Steinmetz solid is a 3D shape formed by two right circular cylinders with equal radii that intersect at right angles, creating a unique geometric figure. This design pairs well with the Two Intersecting Cylinders object, which can be found online. A WLU summer research student named Emily Jaekle designed and printed this model as part of her project. The steps involved in designing the Steinmetz solid are detailed on a website that features math-related visuals and explanations.
