STEIN Bracelet

If you love pentagonal tessellations that much then why aren't you sporting them right now? The attached STL file is for a flat version of the bracelet that can be 3D printed in PLA and then thermofomed into shape with boiling water. With this technique, no supports are needed so the bracelet prints flawlessly, and it will fit your wrist perfectly! You can also order pre-curved versions of this bracelet at Shapeways in Polished Silver (first photo), HP Fusion Nylon (last photo), and many other materials. The pattern around this bracelet was derived from a Type 14 Stein tessellation of the plane by irregular pentagons. Designed flat using our OpenSCAD Pentomizer code, then curled around an elliptical cylinder with our Grasshopper wrapping code to create a bracelet shape. ===== Twitter: twitter.com/mathgrrl Hacktastic blog: www.mathgrrl.com/hacktastic Shapeways geekhaus store: www.shapeways.com/shops/mathgr...
