Steering wheel pad/cushion

I replaced my worn-out wheel grip with custom-made inserts, alleviating thumb soreness while driving. Most steering wheels already feature padded spokes, eliminating the need for additional padding on mine (TC racing). My flat 5mm metal strip drops 20 degrees, digging into my thumbs during intense racing sessions and prompting me to seek a solution. Initially, I printed this part in pla, which provided excellent results and evenly distributed pressure. To try something new, I decided to experiment with ninjaflex tpu material for flexible parts. Although the outcome may not be as polished as the pla version, my thumbs appreciate the added comfort. The insert rests on a 20-degree incline of the steering wheel, so if your wheel is flat, you might need to adjust the channel's position accordingly. The curved section wraps around a 3cm diameter grip, while the wheel itself measures 360mm in outer diameter and 330mm in inner diameter. This design may not perfectly fit your wheel, but it should give you an idea of how it works.
