Steering Knuckle (2D to 3D Request)

Steering Knuckle (2D to 3D Request)

grabcad

In a group discussion, someone requested a tutorial for designing a steering knuckle. I took up the challenge and, using only an incomplete drawing as reference, spent two days completing it—my first 2D-to-3D model ever. While the final output is 95% similar to the original design, there are parts that were confusing from the reference drawing. I've attached both the reference and the output for comparison. If you're interested in designing a steering knuckle yourself, check out this tutorial: How to Design a Steering Knuckle (Request). Special thanks to Mike Geesser, Fred SWUG, and the discussion group at GrabCAD. The model was created with SolidWorks 2016 and rendered using PhotoView 360.
