Steerable nose gear for ULTRA MICRO aircraft
thingiverse
This is a steerable nose gear "kit" designed specifically for ULTRA MICRO lightweight R/C aircraft. The file is optimized for standard .047 music wire, but I've successfully used up to 1/16" (.0625) wire with no issues. To secure the nose gear in place, you'll need a 4-40 drill and tap kit that allows locking the gear into the arm. Drill holes on both sides of the arm and tap them through completely so you can use either side as needed for your application. I created this design to suit kits from WillyNillies.com, which were awaiting release. As shown in my photograph, the nose gear works well after building and flying a beta kit of the Eaglet 250. My plan is to apply this design to numerous other Ultra Micro sized kits.
