The PT-17 model experienced significant upgrades in July 2010, boasting enhanced detail, new wings, advanced textures, and additional features. Constructed almost to scale, this model showcases an intricate radial engine. Fully textured and more accurate, the detailed propeller and included instrument panel further accentuate its authenticity. Additional features such as air suction horns and pitot tubes have been added, and the aircraft is available in a myriad of formats. Known for their use in World War II as basic flight training planes across various military branches, Stearman's PT-17 were biplanes characterized by simplicity in construction, affordability, sturdiness, and stability. The radial engine powered these aircraft, which saw extensive service before, during, and after the war. Many were repurposed for the surplus market, finding uses as flight trainers, crop dusters, patrol planes, and personal aircraft.
