The PT-17 model received an update in July 2010, boasting enhanced detail, new wings, better textures, and additional features. Accurately scaled, the model includes a meticulously designed radial engine. It is fully textured for improved realism and now features a more detailed propeller as well as an instrument panel. Additionally, an air suction horn and pitot tube have been added to the design. Available in multiple formats, this aircraft was widely used during World War II as a basic flight instruction plane across various service branches. Known for its simplicity, affordability, durability, and stability, the Stearman biplane powered by a radial engine saw extensive use before, during, and after the war. After being sold to the surplus market post-war, these aircraft were utilized in diverse roles such as flight trainers, patrol planes, crop dusters, and personal aircraft. Some were even modified for aerobatic performances at air shows. Today, many PT-17s remain airworthy and are cherished by their owners.
