Steampunk Safety Glasses

This is a multi-component print that can be assembled into a set of steampunk-style glasses frames which snap-fit over standard safety glasses. I created my set to wear to the FIRST Robotics Competition 2017 game, where a steampunk theme was prominent. For more information, and to see all of my assembly/finishing/weathering steps, check out the YouTube video at https://youtu.be/-kdsEkqRBYY. Note on wearing: These frames are designed to snap-fit over regular polycarbonate safety glasses. The pressure of someone wearing them is enough to ensure they don't come off, but if desired, they can also be attached with a wire "twist tied" across the nose bridge in the middle. There are tiny holes in two of the triangles in front that can be used to conceal the tips of this wire. Print Settings: Printer: MendelMax (0.4mm nozzle) Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: .2mm Notes: With 18 different pieces, close-fitting parts may require adjusting print settings - If everything's properly oriented in your slicer, every part can be printed without support material. I used rafts for most parts, primarily due to an uneven print bed. A raft is only necessary for the tall narrow parts like the two 'spikes', which need to be printed upside down. I managed to get almost all of the parts to snap fit, but the three "hex" parts that hold up the wire ring holder required a bit of hot glue as filler.
