Steampunk Purse, v2.0 - Now With More Greebles!
thingiverse
This is the upgraded version of my original steampunk purse. I added some extra details and features, including two 5mm holes for LEDs, which will add an extra layer of functionality to the design. The inside of the purse now has two cups to hold CR2032 button cells, a convenient feature that wasn't originally planned. To accommodate this addition, I printed a separate two-cell holder and secured it to the inside of the body using tape. There are also holes on each side at the strap loops, allowing for EL wire to be threaded through them. This will enable me to sew the EL wire directly to the strap while keeping the inverter safely inside the purse. With 10ft wires available, I can create three runs and achieve a comfortable strap length. To enhance the design further, I added holes for small magnets in the gear that spans the lid and body, perfect for salvaged magnets from a laptop hard drive or easily sourced online. This feature will allow users to attach the purse to other objects or surfaces. I also modified the bottom of the purse to create a flat area, enabling it to stand upright when placed on a surface. Additionally, I flattened the inside of the top to facilitate bridging during printing, reducing the need for overhangs and successively worse layers. Printing with supports was my initial choice to avoid reprinting in case of any issues, but they may not be necessary. I'm excited to see how others will customize and use this design, and I look forward to seeing the creative variations that come out of it!
